Short Bio

A native of Baltimore, I have a degree in Art & design. I have spent countless hours studying watercolor painting.

Statement

I am inspired by things that make everyday objects appear magical: rays of sunlight piercing an evergreen forest, the way snow can appear to be blue in the evening, and moonlight glinting on seed heads, turning them white. As a child, images such as these fascinated me. I soon turned to the wonderful illustrations in my grade school stories. If not for the illustrations, would I have become the avid reader I am today?
As an adult, I was inspired by Andrew Wyeth with his somber, sepia tones, Arthur Rackham for his fantasy, Nita Engle with her loose, bohemian approach and, many, many others. Watercolor, in itself, is extraordinary and never ceases to bring me joy. I am grateful to be at a time where I can experiment with this wonderful medium. With my efforts, I hope to create art that will cause the viewer to see more than just a painting but will make them appreciate how the beauty of light and shadow on an everyday scene can become something remarkable!
